Terms of Service for RafflChain

Welcome to RafflChain, a decentralized raffle application built on blockchain technology. By participating in our raffles, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. General Overview

RafflChain is a decentralized application (dApp) running on an EVM-compatible blockchain. Participation in the raffle requires the use of the blockchain's native currency (such as ETH, Matic, or other tokens native to the chosen blockchain for each raffle). The specific blockchain and its native currency may vary for each raffle and will be clearly communicated on the raffle’s page and transactions.

RafflChain is not responsible for the availability, reliability, or performance of third-party services such as decentralized wallets, blockchain nodes, or the underlying blockchain network.

2. Eligibility

To participate in RafflChain:

• Users must own a decentralized wallet (such as MetaMask or other EVM-compatible wallets).
• Users must purchase at least one raffle ticket using the native token of the selected blockchain.
• There is no age requirement, and age verification is not implemented nor enforced.
• Each user is eligible for one free ticket, which is available only to users who do not already have any paid tickets for that particular raffle.

By purchasing a ticket, you become a participant in the raffle, and you agree to the distribution rules outlined in these Terms of Service.

3. Blockchain Technology

RafflChain uses the native token of an EVM-compatible blockchain for transactions. All transactions, including ticket purchases, prize distributions, and charitable donations, are executed by smart contracts. These transactions are irreversible and recorded permanently on the blockchain. By participating in the raffle, you agree that you are engaging with decentralized technology and accept the risks inherent to using blockchain systems.

RafflChain does not store or control your funds. All funds related to ticket purchases, prize distributions, and donations are handled directly by the smart contract.

4. Raffle Mechanics

Each raffle has a fixed prize amount. The fixed prize will be clearly announced on the raffle’s page, along with the native token used for that particular raffle.

• Fixed Prize Guarantee: If the total contributions to the raffle meet or exceed the fixed prize amount, the full prize will be awarded.
• Insufficient Contributions: If the total contributions to the raffle do not meet the fixed prize amount, the winner will receive 50% of the total balance of the smart contract.

The remaining amount (either the other 50% or any contributions that exceed the fixed prize) will be distributed as follows:

• 75% to a charity selected by RafflChain.
• 25% as commission to cover operational costs, such as deploying future smart contracts.

5. Entry Fees and Raffle Participation

• Users can purchase raffle tickets using the native token of the blockchain used for that raffle (e.g., ETH, Matic). The specific token accepted will be announced and made clear in the transactions.
• Users no longer need to approve the use of tokens separately before purchasing a ticket.
• Each participant can receive one free ticket if they have not purchased any tickets for that particular raffle. The free ticket is non-transferable and can only be used by a wallet address that does not hold any paid tickets for that raffle.

6. Charity Contributions

RafflChain is committed to supporting charitable causes. A portion of every raffle’s contributions goes to a selected charity.

• Charity Distribution: For each raffle, 75% of any excess contributions (those exceeding the fixed prize) or the remaining balance (if the prize does not reach the fixed amount) will be donated to charity.
• Charity Selection: RafflChain partners with a third-party charity manager (currently The Giving Block, thegivingblock.com) to ensure that donations are transferred to the charity. Once the native tokens are transferred to the charity manager, RafflChain has no further control or involvement in how the funds are managed.
• Monthly Charity: The specific charity supported changes every month and is announced on our website at the beginning of the month. If you would like to suggest a charity, please contact us at info@rafflchain.com.
• No Cash Conversion: RafflChain transfers native tokens directly to the charity manager. We do not convert these tokens into cash, and we are not responsible for how the charity manager or the charity handles the tokens.

By participating, you acknowledge and accept that a portion of your contribution may be donated to the charity selected by RafflChain.

7. Prize Distribution

• The prize will be transferred to the winner within five days after the raffle ends.
• The winner’s wallet address or ENS may be announced publicly on our website. Additionally, we may send an email to all subscribers with information about the winner’s wallet address or ENS, the amount of the prize, and how much was donated to charity.
• All transactions, including the distribution of the prize and charitable donations, are handled by the smart contract. RafflChain does not manually process these transfers.

The prize will be directly transferred to the winner’s wallet address via the smart contract in the native token of the blockchain used for that raffle.

8. Refund Policy

All ticket purchases are final and non-refundable. Once a ticket is purchased and the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, the funds cannot be reversed.

9. Modifications to the Service

RafflChain reserves the right to modify or discontinue any aspect of the raffle, including but not limited to the prize structure, charity, or operational methods, without prior notice. Any changes will be announced on the website.

10. Limitation of Liability

RafflChain is not liable for any losses or damages arising from your participation in the raffle. This includes, but is not limited to, losses resulting from technical issues, smart contract failures, or third-party wallet or blockchain network issues.

Participation in the raffle is at your own risk. You acknowledge that blockchain technology is experimental and that you assume all risks associated with it.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Germany. By participating in the raffle, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts in Germany.
